Wanna see my unmentionables? Then head here! But if it’s my Bedazzled Belly Dance Bra Collection you’re here for, then look NO further!!!
I must admit, belly dancing is my passion, and there’s absolutely nothing I adore more; however, financing this fancy can cost quite a few coins! Nevertheless, I wouldn’t trade my passion nor its costly costumes for the world! From the zills to the belts, each garment serves its expensive yet prismatic purpose within my belly dance trunk of troves, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! However, since time is of the essence, we will only pay homage to my bosomed bras! Continue reading to check ’em all out! 😀 ♥
I’m a sucker for this bad boy! Not only was this my FIRST brassiere, but her beauty basically set the tone for my performances and how my audience and Shimmy Sistah’s perceived little ole me! Donning this doll made me everyone’s glistening ray of sunshine as I sparkled my way into their ♥’s!
You’d think I worked for Mattel with as many times I was mistaken for Barbie while rocking this rosy number! All I needed was my Barbie Car and companion – Ken – by my side and I’d be all set! It was her influence that inspired my next bra below!
So you think I purchased her? You think I just waltzed into the Belly Dance Bazaar and picked her like a Pokemon, huh? Well, you’re wrong, Shimmies! 😛 Believe it or not, I actually made her! 😀 That’s right! I sewed on each and every individual sequin, stuck on some embellishments, and after seven days, I nursed my poor pointer fingers back to health! Impressive, right?
Gifted to me around two years ago, this cardinal cutie reigns supreme in my collection! How so? Well, for starters, she veils my belly, shines the brightest of all, and even comes with a matching skirt! Can it get much better than that?!?
Just like the bralette below, this quilled cutie was also made in a jiffy for a special occasion. I mean who performs for a Hallow’s Eve celebration without some pumpkin plumes to match? Check out the full frontal here!
Quirky name, I know, but PLEASE bare with me! 😉
So one frightfully frigid February we called our school’s Black Students Association in order to perform for their Black History Month event. Little did we know, however, they would book us to perform the VERY. NEXT. DAY. Were we geeked, yes, but even more flustered! Frantically, I scrambled around town looking for my culture’s Kente Cloth in order to design on a dime! Unfortunately, my locale had NONE in stock, so I opted for this patterned print…not quite what I envisioned but the crowd loved it and my ancestors rejoiced! Ergo, I think this bra’s a win-win! 🙂
As many of you already know, I just graduated from college – meaning ya girl’s pockets are on slim!! Do you think that stopped me from performing and debiting moola, however? Of course, not! 😛
For our last Rio Grande performance this year, my belly dance sisters out-voted me and decided that we should revisit our traditional style of belly dance and perform a tribal piece (learn more here). As you can tell from my previous brassieres above, however, I had nothing of the sort! 😛 So what was a girlie to do? Craft, of course! ♥
After researching and gathering the tiniest trinkets and forgotten charms, this masterpiece with a matching belt emerged!
So that’s it! There’s my collection! Which one’s your favorite? Be sure to list them below!
